A Message from the Deputy Grand Knight

Brother Knights, families, and friends of Council 14544: Welcome to our council newsletter. This is a place to recognize those who serve, share what our council has accomplished, and keep everyone informed about opportunities to put our faith into action at St. Anthony of Padua and throughout our community.

Our strength comes from the men and families who show up, lend a hand, welcome a new Brother Knight, and make parish life stronger. Thank you for being part of that mission.

Council News | September 2026

September brought encouraging membership growth, a successful Bingo Night, and plenty of work behind the scenes at St. Anthony of Padua. Council 14544’s Brothers and families showed once again how much can be accomplished when everyone lends a hand.

Building Our Brotherhood

During our September 19–20 recruitment weekend, our Recruitment Team continued introducing Catholic men to the Knights of Columbus. Our Council has welcomed more than 11 new members so far this fraternal year. We are working toward a goal of 22, and every Brother can help by extending a personal invitation.

Our recent Charity, Unity and Fraternity Exemplification welcomed three new Knights. The wine-and-cheese gathering was a wonderful opportunity for our Brothers and families to enjoy one another’s company and make new members feel at home.

September Bingo: A Great Night Together

On September 12, 61 tickets were purchased for our Bingo Night, including 48 online and 13 at the door. Treasurer Don Carpenter reported $1,874 in receipts and approximately $1,355 in proceeds after the expenses known at the time. The final figure is subject to reconciliation. Thank you to the volunteers who made the evening possible and to everyone who joined us.

Thank You, Fireworks Volunteers

Our Treasurer reported a final fundraising tally of $11,846.07 for the TNT Fireworks effort. We appreciate every Brother and family member who gave time to this important fundraiser.

Serving Our Parish and One Another

September included the parish’s September 11 prayer observance, Welcome Ministry outreach, and extensive planning for the October 3 parish picnic. Brothers also joined in prayer for Brother Michael Pico and the family of Hall Stoddard. These moments of prayer and service are at the heart of who we are.

Faith and Council News Online

The Council introduced a weekly Seminarian Reflections feature by Stephen A. Codekas on our website. We invite parishioners and Brothers to visit our website for reflections, news, and upcoming activities.

Looking Ahead

Please help us welcome new Brothers, volunteer at our October Bingo Night and Pancake Breakfast, and continue supporting parish projects. A growing, active Council depends on all of us. Thank you for making Council 14544 a place of faith, friendship, and service.
